STEAM GENERATOR TECHNICAL TIPS

Water leaking from the steam head.

1. Check the brass drain cap on the generator; it must be on and not leaking.

2. Check the water pressure. Water pressure should not be below 25 psi or above 80 psi.

3. Post 1996 (black) generator, drain the generator, following the procedure as stated in your installation manual.

4. If these suggestions do not correct the problem, please speak with a service technician at 800-776-0711.

Flashing diagnostic light on digital control.

1. If diagnostic light comes on after three (3) minutes operation time, then follow these steps:

A. Drain the generator, following the procedure as stated in your installation manual, and then refill the tank.

B. Clear your control electronically by turning the breaker in your fuse box for the generator off for 20 seconds and then on.

C. Turn your generator on, if your diagnostic light comes on after three (3) to fifteen (15) minutes of operation you have a water problem and need to speak with a technician at 800-776-0711.

2. If the diagnostic light goes on immediately, call and speak with a service technician at 800-776-0711.

3. Check PC board for moisture: turn off breaker, remove access panel and check PC board for water or moisture. If damp, you have a leak and should call 800-776-0711 and speak with a technician.

4. If control is mounted within shower area, remove touch pad from wall and check for moisture behind the pad. If damp, use a blow dryer on LOW setting for 15 – 20 minutes to dry. Then reinstall the pad using silicone to seal it from further moisture.

5. If two (2) controls are used, remove control splitter from generator and test each control separately with the generator. Should one of the controls not work, please speak with a service technician at 880-776-0711.

If these suggestions do not correct the problem, please speak with a service technician at 800-776-0711.

Generator produces no steam.

1. Check the breaker to make sure it is on and the proper size.

2. Check the water supply to make sure it is turned on.

3. Turn off breaker, remove the access panel and check to make sure all wires are connected.

4. Test the heating element for continuity to make sure it is receiving electrical current.

5. Check the voltage to the generator and make sure the voltage is 208/240.

Generator produces a burning smell and shuts down before the time is up.

1. Check the water supply to make sure it is turned on.

2. Post 1996 generator (black), drain the generator, following the procedure as stated in your installation manual and refill the tank with water.

Intermittent readings on digital controls.

1. If the control is a Digital Environment Control, then check the length of the connection cord. Should it be over 25 feet in length, check the phone jack on the generator to determine how many pins (silver looking lines) it has. If you find it has four (4) pins, reduce the connection cord to 25 feet or less. If you find six (6) pins and the connection cord is 25 feet or more, proceed to the next step.

2. Turn off breaker, remove access panel and check PC board for water or moisture. If damp, call 800-776-0711 and speak with a technician.
